Squaring up board edges with a router

If you want to glue the edges of boards together to make larger panels, you need the edges to be square. This is easy if you have a jointer, but you can get the same results with a woodworking router. Steve Ramsey shows you how.

Temperature-Sensitive Camo Adjusts Itself to Match Appropriate Season’s Surroundings

Hunters in the dead of winter might want to put on brown woodsy camouflage, but they’ll need a whole other set for early fall or spring when there’s likely more greenery.
For the hunter who doesn’t have much room in his dresser drawers for each season’s gear, the outdoors store Cabela’s created a temperature-sensitive camo that adjusts colors to the appropriate season.

The ColorPhase camo is touted by the store as “the world’s first camouflage clothing to be printed with rapid-change, temperature-activated dye.” When it’s warmer, the pattern will include “vivid greens,” but when the temperature drops below a certain degree, the “greens morph to late-season shades of brown.”

Popular Science recently named the camo that “gives hunters chameleon-like powers” as one of its “Best of What’s New 2013.”

Some recognition for my Bigfoot Expedition

Several years ago me and a buddy took a week long camping trip up to northern Washington State to search for Bigfoot. It was really about the camping, but to see the big man would have been cool. Anyways, we made a documentary about it to share with friends back home. Turned out ok, was a real nice trip, and the video wasn't bad.So, I posted it on vimeo and then forgot about it.

Well, last night I received an email from the creator of BlogdogIt about some link backs he had been chasing and found (or created) a page that showcased our video. Check it out!

I just wanted to create this post to thank him for the heads up. Thanks my friend!

This is a highly detailed model of a Police LED Lightbar. Model can be used in close to mid range photos and animations.

The C4D v.10 model has the flashing lights due to the xpresso tag used inside the program to create the patterns.

Here is a video showing how to change the light flash patterns:

All light patterns are fully automated with no key-framing involved! Each set of lights has check boxes to choose which light pattern you want to use. Light colors can easily be change using xpresso as well.

Unbelievable UFO Footage

Here is another video I have created of a UFO. It is the same model I used in the Jupiter Lighthouse UFO with the exception of the lights on it. And unlike the Jupiter UFO, the whole scene was done in Cinema 4d. The trees, the houses and the environment. All the post effects (camera blur, zoom and fade) were done in After Effects.

I got the actual guys talking from another UFO video on YouTube. I then mixed the vocals with the craft sounds, the dogs and the sirens in Audacity.

I am hoping to come out with a tutorial at some point on how I achieved each effect. I am also going to start on another UFO video that will hopefully blow these last two out of the water. You only get better with practice. I guess that’s it, oh and if your wondering what gave me the idea for all of this check out ManBird12000. His videos are great and he is the one who started the Haiti UFO video craze. I would love to have done something like that but everyone is pretty well informed with what a little talent and the right programs can deliver.

Jupiter, Fl UFO

I created this video using film from my back yard looking at the Jupiter Lighthouse (behind the trees). This is the first video of its kind that I have created and wanted to see how hard it could be after seeing the Haiti UFO footage.

The UFO was created and textured in Cinema 4d v. 9. Video and Post Effects were done using Adobe After Effects.
