Mississippi State and adidas unveiled new TECHFIT football uniforms for the Bulldogs' upcoming games, "The Snow Bowl" versus Texas A&M at home on November 3 and "The Egg Bowl" against Ole Miss in Oxford on November 24.

One of the most memorable games in Independence Bowl History was the 2000 "snow bowl" game between Texas A&M and Mississippi State. The game was originally publicized as a reunion game, since Mississippi State coach Jackie Sherrill had served as A&M's coach for six seasons in the 1980s and led them to three conference titles. However, the weather quickly dominated the story line as a rare and significant snowstorm hit Shreveport. In the midst of the snow, Mississippi State rallied to an overtime win over A&M.

Wanted to pay a little tribute to Anthony Dixon, Mississippi State’s greatest running back. He’s leaving this year (senior year) without any of the respect from a lot of people that he deserves.

The following is taken from BradLocke from Inside Mississippi State Sports. This is a comparison between Dixon and Mark Ingram from Alabama who is one of the front runners for the Heisman:

• Rushing yards: Dixon 1,391; Ingram 1,542

• Yards per game: Dixon 126.5 (11 games); Ingram 118.6 (13 games)

• Yards per carry: Dixon 5.4; Ingram 6.2

• Rushing touchdowns: Dixon 12, Ingram 15

• Receptions-yards-TDs: Dixon 18-123-0; Ingram 30-322-3

OK, now let’s go a little deeper.

• 100-yard games: Dixon 8 (in 11 games); Ingram 8 (in 13 games)

• Season low (carries-yards): Dixon 15-53, vs. Florida; Ingram 16-30, vs. Auburn

There is talk of Mississippi State unveiling a new football helmet for next year. The pictures that are floating around have us going back to the maroon helmets with a white M State logo. You can view these photos here. This is a rendering I did of the new concept.

I created the helmet in Cinema 4d and designed the logo in Photoshop. I like the helmet design and will probably be doing more teams from time to time.

Well, I am a HUGE Mississippi State Fan. Especially when it comes to football. If you follow sports at all you’re probably laughing right now.A lot of people blame our head coach, Sylvester Croom, for our horrible seasons. I have to agree to a certain extent, but I don’t want to get into that.
